Yesterday, in their interview with Hannah Johns, Matt Wright and Ben Johns discussed James Ignatowich

Matt, do you have any insight into what your partnership horizon looks like in men's doubles?

I'm set to partner with James for the first six months of next year, and that's the plan we recently discussed. For the remainder of this year, I'll be teaming up with various players: Thomas, Rafa, and Travis. I'm mixing and matching my partnerships for the last three or four months. I'm particularly excited about the partnership with James. He brings excellent off-the-bounce speed-ups to all parts of the court, making us a formidable team. James has a high ceiling and tremendous potential, which makes this partnership even more appealing. His length, reach, and athleticism will be assets, especially when we approach the kitchen line. We anticipate causing disruptions in the game, regardless of whether James plays on the left, and I'm on the right, or vice versa. James has a versatile game that can create chaos, particularly with his forehand flip. If necessary, I can switch to the left side, and James can handle the right. We'll have options, but the baseline plan is to stick with this strategy, which makes the most sense for us.

Ben Johns:
I appreciate this partnership because they possess outstanding off-the-bounce speed-ups in all areas of the court. It will present an interesting challenge for any opponent, and they can certainly catch you off guard with their speed-ups. I also like Matt's choice of James because I believe he could become one of the highest-stealing and most promising players in the near future, potentially surpassing his current level of play.

Matt spoke highly of James, emphasizing his potential and skill set. He mentioned that James has a high ceiling due to his length, reach, and athleticism. Matt believes that when they reach the kitchen line (the non-volley zone in pickleball), they can be particularly disruptive as a team. James's ability to create chaos with his flip shots and his overall game make him an exciting partner for Matt. Matt also notes that he has been watching James play for a while and is impressed with his upside.
