In game one, the team of Matt Wright and James Ignatowich jumped out to a quick 5-1 lead over Julian Arnold and 19-year old Jack Munro. Ignatowich used his powerful forehand drives up the middle to move Arnold and Munro around, leading Wright to call their opponents “youngsters.” Munro showed off his ambidextrous skills, driving left-handed but serving right-handed. However, Wright/Ignatowich controlled the flow of the game with Ignatowich crushing forehands and Wright countering with solid backhands. Leading 8-3, Ignatowich hit a disguised forehand drive up the middle to go up 9-3. They closed out the game 11-3, with Wright screaming across the net at the younger Arnold.

The start of game two was more competitive, with Arnold using his speed to attack the middle of the court. However, Ignatowich’s lethal serve and forehand quickly gave his team a 6-3 advantage. Munro also started finding more success on the left side, putting away overhead smashes to keep his team in the game. After Wright/Ignatowich went up 9-4, Arnold elevated his play, screaming loudly after big points. Arnold hit a perfectly placed backhand cross-court to make it 9-8 and Munro's athleticism kept them in rallies. Tied at 10-10, Munro dug out a ball from the kitchen with his paddle in his left-hand to somehow win the point, showcasing his superb effort. In the final game, Ignatowich continued dominating with his serve, leading Wright to call it “a heat check.” Arnold had trouble returning these blistering serves, as Wright/Ignatowich cruised to a 6-2 lead. Munro again battled hard, making incredible gets despite awkward court positioning. But Wright/Ignatowich had all the answers as veteran Wright offered advice to rookie Munro, telling him “Youth and athleticism can get you to the next ball but the next one ain't coming back.” Leading 9-5, Wright struggled with easier balls, missing returns he normally makes. But Ignatowich's baseline consistency and serves proved too much, as they closed out game three, 11-6.
