Pickleball Courts Celebration June 29
Vero Beach Bread and Butter Pickleball Co. donates paddles to Oklahoma library
The pickleball courts will be first-come, first-served for the public and are not affected by the library’s open/closed hours. There are lights for evening play, and library cardholders can borrow paddles and balls for free.
The Bread & Butter Pickleball Co. donation includes 4 lightweight family friendly paddles that are USA Pickleball Approved and have state-of-the-art polypropylene cores with carbon fiber faces:
“We fully support and encourage the development of more pickleball courts in parks, recreation centers, schools and libraries nationwide,” explains Doug Sapusek, founder Bread & Butter Co. “To Grow The Game collaboration with local governments and organizations to invest in dedicated pickleball facilities is key to accommodate the steady growth of both casual and competitive players.”
“We are so thankful for the generous donation of this pickleball equipment,” says Kenny Matthews, branch manager at Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library. “These paddles will help our efforts to improve health literacy in Checotah and the surrounding communities. Libraries are so much more than books, and partnerships with companies like this will go a long way to continue providing important services to our community."
Other Checotah Public Library donors and supporters: Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Institute of Museum and Library Services, Friends of the Library, Peoples National Bank of Checotah, Armstrong Bank, First Family Federal Credit Union, the family of Eli Wallace, and Dr. Maurice & Gretchen Payne.
